A niggle from my radio show
Last night something bugged me; it bugged me even more than the constant fire alarms that woke me from my slumber whilst living on campus last year. My show 'Dead Air' every week receives some great comments, requests and funny or, more often than not unfunny/tragic puns but occasionally we get the 'haters' as I believe they love to be called.
The point I wish to make now is simple, if you don't like it, don't fucking listen. There, that wasn't so hard was it? There are plenty of radio stations and other shows on Bailrigg fm that play the latest, trendy pop and shit (some of it is okay I admit but I'm trying to make a point) that's funded by a bunch of bull-shit munching corporate assholes. If this is your kind of music tune into MTV, which stands for Music television and actually no...wait ironically never plays any muisc, just crap reality shows (because people can't go outside and experience life for themselves anymore). The point of my show is to play rock, metal, punk, industrial etc. yes we play stuff you would hear on the radio from 30 seconds to Mars, Placebo, Pink Floyd, Tom Petty and The Offspring. However we also play stuff you wouldn't get on the radio at all or not normally like Avenged Sevenfold, Pentera, Dope Stars Inc, The Royal Highness, Vains of Jenna, Sonata Arctica, Tattooed Millionaires and much more. We also cover tattoos, motobikes, geek/nerd news, film and rock news and well everything from Zombie Strippers to flying reindeer. It's supposed to be a fun rock n' roll show but week on week we get plagued with people a. calling us emo (I wasn't aware bands like Motley Crue and Metallica were emo, but they say you learn something new every day) and b. making comments like, "I really enjoy listening to the music you play, it's so much better than good music." I think I actually did lol...we have a joker.
I get the fact that not everyone likes the many genres and subgenres of rock music and that's cool, we're all different, if we were all the same, hell, life would be coring but for gods sake if you don't like it why are you listening? On the show my co-presenter and I don't get upset by these comments, on the contrart we have managed to annoy someone or ruin their evening with 'shit' music and they have contributed to our listenership and so I thank them each and every one....(Also I'd like to see them do better and put up with haters)
P.S. There is a woodlouse crawling around on my floor I shall call him Clive.

Roll up! Roll up!
I’d been considering for some time starting a blog with random musings about rock music, movies, comic books, art, geek/nerd news, political views and tattoos (heh I made a rhyme) and so on and so forth for some time but was put off. Usually put off by blogs where the blogger is so self-righteous and thinks their blog actually holds a massive deal of importance and so I vow not to do this (I give myself a week.)
Choosing a site to host my blog on was the first step and it was as hard as a sex addict in a strip-club, there are too many choices these days. I was going to head over to live journal but realised that even the name makes it sound slightly pathetic and emo, a blog isn’t like a diary to share everything with the world (perhaps for some it is but not me) so here I am at BlogSpot.
I’m not entirely sure of the point of this blog so far, I have a radio show called ‘Dead Air’ which is on every Tuesday 10pm-12am GMT on http://www.bailriggfm.co.uk/I guess this is a blog version of the show.
So roll up, roll up! Let fun and antics and crap shot reviews begin....
In other news I have a friend who is addicted to methadrone and their doctor advised them to keep away from it so to help them I went out and bought them a 10 foot straw.... Already as you can see this will be a self-proclaimed, unfunny load of shit. Genius.
